Abstract : Viral load (VL) suppression is a key indicator of antiretroviral therapy (ART) efficacy in infected patients. This study aimed to assess VL trends and identify factors associated with unsuppressed viremia among patients followed at the Yaoundé University Teaching Hospital (YUTH). This was a descriptive and analytical study—combining retrospective and prospective approaches—conducted from February to May 2025 on a sample of 197 HIV-1 infected patients receiving ART between 2022 and 2025. Data collected included sociodemographic, clinical, and therapeutic characteristics, as well as virological variables. VL changes were measured using RT-PCR on the Abbott M2000sp/rt platform at months 6 (T6), 12 (T12), and 18 (T18) following ART initiation.
