Abstract : Looking at the humongous quantum of construction undertaken annually, the construction industry consumes an enormous amount of energy every year. A good portion of this is attributed to the materials used for construction, considering right from their extraction to the building application. Also in terms of building’s operational energy, an appropriate building envelope design can greatly result in reducing the energy consumption.
