Both mother and child are prominent vulnerable groups in any society, and it comprises three fourth of the population of our country. Family planning allows individuals and couples to anticipate and attain their desired number of children and the spacing and timing of their births. Aim: The aim o the study was Comparing 200 rural and urban married women’s’ knowledge and attitude regarding modern methods of family planning. Materials and methods: The data regarding socio demographic factors and knowledge regarding modern Family planning methods was collected using structured interview schedule and the attitude was assessed by using 5 point attitude scale. The sample size was 200 married women between 18 to 45 years of age. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics; Z test and Mann Whitney’s U test. Result: A significant difference was found between the knowledge and attitude of rural and urban married women. Conclusion: There is a significant difference among rural and urban married women in terms of knowledge and attitude regarding modern family planning methods.
