Abstract :
Background:
The unchecked growth of immature blood cells in the bone marrow is the hallmark of acute leukemia, a potentially
fatal hematologic cancer. The burden of acute leukemia is exacerbated in low-resource environments like Sudan by a lack
of thorough cancer registries, regional healthcare inequities, and inadequate diagnostic skills. Meningioma 1 (MN1)
overexpression (OE) is associated with the progression from myelodysplastic syndrome to acute myeloid leukemia (AML)
and correlates with poor survival in AML patients. So this study conducted to detect the expression of MN1 among Sudanese
patients diagnosed with AML.
Methodology:
100 AML patients recruited in this study, they were diagnosed with basic steps of diagnosis, which involved bone
marrow, flow cytometer and complete blood count also conducted.MN1 detection was conducted through application of real
time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Data analysis conducted by SPSS version 20.
