Abstract :
Alumni associations play a crucial role in supporting higher education institutions through engagement,
collaboration, and resource mobilization. However, traditional approaches to alumni relations are increasingly challenged
by changing alumni expectations, technological advancement, and the evolving demands of higher education. This paper
examines the digital transformation of alumni associations by analysing its opportunities, challenges, and strategic
implications for higher education in the 21st century. Adopting a conceptual and analytical approach, the study explores the
need for digital transformation in response to emerging institutional challenges and evolving alumni engagement patterns.
The analysis indicates that digital transformation enhances continuous alumni engagement, global connectivity, and alumni
participation in academic development, mentoring, and institutional support. At the same time, challenges related to digital
access, data privacy, and organizational readiness are identified. The paper concludes that strategically implemented digital
transformation can strengthen alumni associations as active partners in institutional development and long-term
sustainability
