Abstract :
This study assessed the digital transformation of construction processes with a view to developing an integrated framework for enhancing project performance in Abia State, Nigeria. The study was motivated by persistent time and cost overruns, poor quality, and fragmented paper-based processes in Nigeria’s SME-dominated construction industry, coupled with acute last-mile logistics challenges in Umuahia and Aba due to poor road networks and informal material delivery systems. Despite global advancement in Construction 4.0 driven by Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Twins, Internet of Things (IoT) and Data Analytics, existing studies in Nigeria are fragmented, focusing mainly on BIM in Lagos/Abuja without integrating the five technologies, without linking to last-mile logistics, and without a mediated-moderated framework for South-East Nigeria.
