Abstract :
The law enforcement agencies reaction to
trafficking human activities remains unsatisfactory as
many cases of trafficking are still under investigation in
as much as the information available to law enforcement
agencies is unreliable. about the locations as well as
prevalence rate of such crime. This research centers on
the development of an agglomerative clustering model
using hierarchical clustering algorithm of unsupervised
learning method to improve this process and identify hot
spot(s) of trafficking in Nigeria. Data needed for the
model formulation will be secondary data; dataset on
human trafficking in the form of .csv file will be utilized.
The approach of visualizing trafficking statistics and
similarity measurements aid in the detection of
trafficking hotspots. The results of an agglomerative
clustering technique are dendrograms which are treelike structure that is easy to visualize compared with
clusters of points presented by K-means clustering
technique.
