Abstract : This research examined the effect of Enugu state debt management policy on the state debt profile between 2019 – 2023. Data were sourced through interviews and documents. Hypotheses were tested using Chi-square. The study revealed that between 2019 – 2023, Enugu State borrowing benchmark has no relationship with the state debt profile but has relationship with the state debt services and the state economic growth. The study recommended that the state debt management policy should be religiously adhered in debt procurement and management; the state government should embark on project tied loan that can repay itself; and finally, improve it revenue base.
