From Information to Interaction: Government Social Media Strategies for Boosting Engagement on Instagram

Abstract : Currently, much hoax information, lies, fraud, and bullying are used on social media. For social media to become trusted, a social media management strategy is needed. Instagram @indonesiabaik.id is one of the government's Instagram accounts, managed by the Directorate General of Informatics Applications, Ministry of Communication and Digital, as a public information service media. Based on these problems, this study aims to determine the social media management strategy to increase follower engagement. Using a qualitative method with purposive sampling. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study in social media management use three methods: first, searching for information, data using trusted sources and media, second, managing information by creating interesting messages and designing content, choosing colors, creating message templates, images, animations, which are packaged in the form of audio, video, and third, conveying information with various Instagram features.
