Abstract :
Homomorphic encryption is a vital
cryptographic technique that enables computations on
encrypted data while preserving privacy and security.
Understanding the diverse landscape of homomorphic
encryption schemes is crucial for both researchers and
practitioners. To facilitate this understanding, we
introduce HECAT, the Homomorphic Encryption
Classification and Taxonomy. HECAT is a
comprehensive framework designed to classify and
categorize homomorphic encryption schemes based on
various attributes, including mathematical operations,
security levels, use cases, and practical implementations.
This taxonomy serves as a valuable resource for anyone
seeking to navigate the complex field of homomorphic
encryption and make informed decisions about its
application in diverse scenarios. By providing a
structured overview of the field, HECAT aims to promote
the adoption and development of homomorphic
encryption for secure and privacy-preserving data
processing.
