Abstract :
This study assessed the distribution of trace metals, rare earth elements (REEs), thorium (Th), and uranium (U)
in sediments and surface waters of the Tshikapa and Kasai Rivers in Tshikapa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and
evaluated the associated contamination and potential ecological risks. Sediment physicochemical properties, grain-size
distribution, trace elements, and REEs were determined using analytical techniques.
