Abstract : DNA computing is an exciting field that encompasses different scientific subjects and merges them with computer science. It is based on the theory, experiments, and applications of DNA to solve computerrelated problems. This paper describes what DNA computing entails and also presents the research carried over the years in the field of DNA computing. Furthermore, some of the algorithms used for improvements are present as well as the drawbacks of this evolving field. This paper aims to keep researchers abreast of the current trend of this field thus informing their future research efforts.
