Abstract : Inclusion of DPL markedly increased crude protein and ash content while reducing neutral detergent fibre, whereas GCP addition moderately improved dry matter content. Treatments T1 and T2, which included concentrate supplementation, recorded the highest total dry matter intake, slaughter weights, warm carcass weights, and dressing percentages. Goats on T3 (DPL-supplemented green stover without concentrate) showed inferior carcass performance. Liver and lung weights as proportions of slaughter weight were significantly affected by treatment. It is concluded that ensiling green maize stover with DPL improves silage nutritive value, but concentrate supplementation remains essential for satisfactory carcass performance in Red Sokoto goats.
