Power quality is one of the major and emerging issues in the present scenario. With the increasing use of non linear devices in electrical systems, it has become necessary to investigate the power quality issues as all electrical devices are prone to failure when feces different types of power quality problems. This paper represent overview of the power quality standards, problems, their effect and mitigating devices for its correction. Some power quality enhancement devices are also discussed. This paper will be very helpful for engineers and researchers to become familiar with power quality issues.
