Abstract :
Memorizing the Qur'an is an activity of
instilling Allah's verses into the heart and mind which can
later be read without looking at the text. There are many
techniques in memorizing the Qur'an and the factors that
influence it, for instance motivation. SMPIT Makassar
Islamic School is a boarding school that provides
memorizing the Qur'an as one of its activities. The
purpose of this study was to determine the factors which
influence students who pass and do not pass in
memorizing the Qur'an. The number of surahs
memorized is limited to 37 suras (Juz Amma) in a period
of 1 year. In this study there were 63 students consisting
of 37 students who passed, and 26 students did not pass
