Abstract : Paddy (Oryza sativa L.) remains a crucial cereal crop underpinning global food security, with India standing as a major producer. Despite the availability of superior cultivars, farmers frequently continue cultivating traditional, aging varieties such as MTU-7029 (Swarna), resulting in yield stagnation and suboptimal resource utilization. To evaluate the production potential, adoptability, and economic viability of the modern, non-lodging, medium-slender rice variety MTU1281, frontline demonstrations (FLDs) were conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Venkataramannagudem, across five upland villages in the Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh during the kharif seasons of 2024 and 2025.

Keywords : Frontline Demonstrations, Rice (Oryza sativa), MTU-1281, Yield Attributes, Technology Gap, Economic Viability.
