Nanotechnology offers unique possibilities for
the development of advanced materials with unique
properties. By combining nanotechnology with medical
technology, researchers are creating new antimicrobial
agents to fight bacteria and fungi. Examples of these
antimicrobial substances include titanium dioxide (TiO₂)
and zinc oxide (ZnO). This review focuses on the recent
advancements and challenges in the antimicrobial and
photocatalytic properties of TiO₂.
