Abstract :
Board examinations can be an important source of academic pressure for secondary-school students, and anxiety
may interfere with concentration, confidence, sleep, and examination preparation. Brief, low-cost relaxation strategies such
as Jacobson's progressive muscle relaxation may be suitable for school settings. Objective: The present study examined the
effect of a one-month Jacobson's progressive muscle relaxation technique on reduction of anxiety among Grade 10 students
preparing for board examinations. Methods: Sixty Grade 10 students from a semi-English-medium private school were
included, comprising 30 boys and 30 girls.
