Abstract :
Silver is one of the most significant and extensively utilized precious metals due to its remarkable physical and
chemical properties. Its outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity, high reflectivity, and strong antimicrobial activity
make it indispensable in a wide range of industrial and technological applications. This study reviews the fundamental
characteristics and chemistry of silver, as well as its extraction and recycling processes, toxicity aspects, significance of its
nanoparticles and contemporary applications. The findings highlight the considerable economic value of silver and its growing
importance across various sectors. Today, silver plays a vital role in photography, catalysis, advanced technologies, and medical
applications, underscoring its continued relevance in modern industry and scientific development.
