Abstract :
This study focuses on the empowerment of
women through the utilization of social media. Social
networking, which is arguably the most significant
technical advancement of recent years, has experienced a
surge in popularity across the country. Social media has
rapidly emerged as a prevailing means of professional
and personal communication. It is indispensable in
contemporary society because it facilitates the
dissemination of ideas, thoughts, and opinions.
Additionally, it can be utilized to endorse businesses,
organizations, and movements while being up-to-date.
The main objective of this paper was to investigate the
influence that social media platforms have on the
empowerment of women. The study sought to assess
women of a certain age in order to identify how social
media impacts women's empowerment. The research
was conducted with a suitable theoretical framework in
mind. As part of the research, both quantitative and
qualitative methodologies were employed. An online
survey was exploited to gather data from 120 individuals
who engage in online business using social media
platforms. In addition, case studies were conducted on a
sample of 10 individuals to gain a comprehensive
understanding and achieve the intended outcome.
Research reveals that the COVID-19 pandemic has
brought about substantial transformations in the
contemporary condition of women's empowerment.
Following the COVID pandemic, there is a swift change
in the circumstances, and women have shifted from
being homemakers to becoming powerful earners by
leveraging social media platforms. Now that they are
contributing financially, they are able to have a say in
family decisions that were previously out of their hands.
