Abstract : This research analyzes the strategy of ecotourism development at Mundu Perdidu to become a tourist destination in Ossu de Cima village in Viqueque. The data has been obtained through observation and documentation together with interviews with 14 key informants. Data analyzed using the SWOT analysis. The results indicate that success is reliant on having a variety of solutions that strengthen tourism activities available, along with tourism facilities, as well as infrastructure to support a tourism industry. Training is also needed to prepare the local community to become tour guides and hosts for tourists. This study makes recommendations to a range of stakeholders in Timor-Leste to develop stronger ecotourism destinations like Mundu Perdidu.
