The consistent high fertility rate in Kaduna state remains an issue of public health concern due to its effect on maternal and child mortality. This study developed a structural equation model of factors influencing fertility in Kaduna state, Nigeria. PMA2020 cross-sectional household survey of women of reproductive age 15-49 years were used. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the study participants and the structural equation model was built using AMOS statistical package at 5% level of significance. The mean age of respondents was 29 (SD=5.5) years. Age at first birth had direct negative influence on children ever born (β=-0.014) and it influences CEB indirectly through contraceptive use (β=0.005). The study has demonstrated that education and religion are fundamental factors influencing age at first birth, contraceptive use and fertility. Therefore, campaign aimed at encouraging contraceptive use and discouraging early marriage should be spread across various religious groups in Kaduna state
