Abstract :
Climate change, driven predominantly by anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, has transcended the realm of
an environmental concern to become the defining human development issue of the 21st century. This paper provides a
comprehensive analysis of the multifaceted impacts of climate change on fundamental pillars of human life, including health,
food security, water resources, economic stability, and human security. The analysis is framed within the context of the
United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 (Climate Action), which serves as both a goal
in itself and a critical enabler for the achievement of all other SDGs. The paper argues that climate change acts as a "threat
multiplier," exacerbating existing vulnerabilities and inequalities within and between nations. Through a systematic review
of empirical evidence and current literature, we detail the mechanisms through which climate disruptions—such as extreme
weather events, sea-level rise, and changing climatic patterns—undermine human systems. The conclusion emphasizes the
urgent and integrated implementation of SDG 13's targets, including strengthening resilience, integrating climate measures
into policy, and improving education, as a non-negotiable prerequisite for safeguarding human prosperity and achieving the
2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
