Abstract : Entrepreneurship is very important for the economy and employment creation, particularly among youths. The present study "The Role of Entrepreneurship Cells in Encouraging Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment among College Students in Shillong" investigates the role of Entrepreneurship Cells (E-Cells) in fostering entrepreneurial minds among college students in Shillong, Meghalaya. This study intends to evaluate the role of ECells in enhancing the entrepreneurial skills of the students and their perceptions regarding the activities carried out by E-Cells along with the hurdles faced in making proper use of the resources made available. From literature review on this topic, it has been established that entrepreneurship education and institutional involvement plays an important role in molding the entrepreneurial intentions of the students. It has been found that the E-Cells help the students gain awareness, develop their skills, and become innovative by organizing workshops and providing training programs. However, lack of awareness and insufficient funding among other constraints may impede student participation in these programs. Therefore, it was concluded that proper institutional assistance, greater student participation, and enhanced resource availability will play a crucial role in promoting self-employment among the youths.
