Now a days with growing consciousness about environment, biofabric reinforced composite materials are replacing old traditional materials and their demands are increasing day by day due to its superior and valuable properties like high tensile strength, high strength to weight ratio ,lower cost ,light in weight, biodegradable and easily recyclable. In the present work a hybrid of banana and glass fibre has been reinforced with polyester matrix .The mechanical properties like tensile strength, flexural strength and shear strength are evaluated and compared. It is found that glass fibre composite shows good tensile strength, have high flexural strength and shows maximum shear strength.
